Biography
TONI SALAR-VERDÚ
Artistic director of the Orchestra Barroca de Galicia and from 2005 first clarinet in the German Orchestra Concerto Köln, Toni started his musical studies in his native Alicante, following them in Madrid and Salamanca where he obtains his bachelor. Later he specializes in historical clarinet (Master in Solo and Chamber Music) in the Royal Conservatory in The Hague (Holland). Afterwards, he studied orchestra conducting in Namur (Belgium).
He has an important role in chamber music ensembles as the New Hyperion Trio, the Mörike Ensemble, the duo with the fortepianist Alexander Puliaev and the sextet Nachtmusique, with which he plays in Europe and America, recording for the Glossa label.
In his free-lance activity he collaborates regularly with historical performance groups such as Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, Eighteenth Century Orchestra, Anima Eterna, La Petite Bande, Orchestre des Champs-Elysées, Freiburger Barockorchester, Das Neue Orchester, The Kings Consort, Concerto Italiano, Orquesta Barroca de Sevilla, , De Nederlandse Bach Vereningen, Estil Concertant, Die Kölner akademie, Al Aire Español, L´Ensemble Baroque de Limoges, Pacific Baroque Orchestra Vancouver, Les Agrement,etc. With some of these groups he recorded and played in the most famous early music festivals.
From 2000 until 2005 he has taught in the “Martín Códax International Music Course" in Spain and has given master-classes in the Brasilia Music School (Brazil). In July 2007 Toni was invited as a teacher in the international course Międzynarodowa Letnia Akademia Muzyki Dawnej de Varosovia-Wilanowie. He collaborates with the Spanish Magazine of the Spanish Association for the Study and Development of the clarinet (ADEC).
Toni is invited in 2008 to play the Mozart clarinet concerto in Germany with the Ensemble 1800 and in Spain with the Orquesta de la Sociedad Brahms, and the second concerto by C. M. von Weber with Concerto Köln in La Foulle journeé the Nantes.
The New Hyperion trio is selected to play in the Catalunya Music Network (Spain)
